Boy (13) found with E85 000 dagga {Swaziland}

A thirteen year old boy from Nkomazi was arrested by police from Pigg’s Peak after he was found in possession of dagga worth E85 000.00

The boy was in the company of a nineteen-year-old man when they were found by the cops carrying the dagga weighing 143 kg.

According to Police PRO Wendy Hleta, the two could not produce a permit or licence when requested by the officers hence they were arrested and charged.

She said they would appear at the Pigg’s Peak magistrates court.

Over the past weekend, police confiscated dagga worth 234 000 in different arrests.

Hleta highlighted that on different scenarios, police officers managed to effect arrests after the owners were found carrying the herb without a licence.

On Saturday, Pigg’s Peak police arrested and charged a 65-year-old man, 27-year-old woman and a 38-year-old woman from Nkamanzi area for being found in possession of dagga weighing 15kg with a street value of E9 000.

She mentioned that on the same day, the officers also arrested and charged a 47-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman who were also from Nkomazi after they were found in possession of dagga weighing 223kg with a street value of 133 800. 00.

On the third incident, officers from Lavumisa police station arrested and charged a 33-year-old man of Shiselweni, 31-year-old man of Lavundlamanti and a 47-year-old man of Sihlangwini, respectively for being found with dagga weighing 9.46 kg with a street value E5 676. 00.

She said the suspects would appear before Nhlangano Magistrates court. On the other hand, Hleta mentioned that Hluti police officers had charged a 38-year-old man of Ngololweni for the murder of a 49-year-old man from Hluti. She said the deceased was alleged to have been stabbed on the chest with a sharp object while at Hluti town.
