KIMBERLEY: During a covert operation in the Kimberley CBD on Thursday 16 January 2014 a 53 year-old suspect was arrested for possession of 1.9kg of dagga worth R1000 and a 31 year-old man for possession of suspected stolen goods.

According to Lieutenant Sergio Kock of the NC Provincial Corporate Communication, the operation took place between 08:00 and 15:00 with members of the Kimberley Station Visible Policing unit while monitoring alleged drug sales in Craven Street at approximately 14:30.

During the arrest of the suspect with the dagga, another suspicious-looking man driving a blue VW Fox was spotted.
The police searched his vehicle and found a flatscreen TV set covered with a blanket in the boot, a Sony DVD player, 2 Samsung amplifiers, 2 camping tents and a food mixer all in black bags.
The suspect had no proof of ownership, hence all the goods as well as the vehicle were confiscated.

Both suspects should be appearing in the Kimberley Magistrates Court soon. The investigation continues.
