I recently had an experience with a drug called Lyrica, or Pregabalin. It was for neurological pain, but is also used for anxiety…. I ended up truly bonkers: life with NO anxiety whatsoever is very strange, as you have no limits…… my behaviour kept getting more extreme, and I simply did not give a fuck, and thought it was wonderful, as, for the first time in my life, I just didn’t give a shit about anything…… When I eventually realised what was going on, my family had left, and so had almost everybody else in my life…. First two weeks on it was strange, like a low level never ending bad acid trip, but, hey, that was a picnic compared to when I stopped taking it….. Was told to simply “stop” when I saw psychiatrist and said what the effects were like: the next three weeks were the worst of my life, and I remember little of it….. but, the shit that went down comes back to remind, or tell me, what happened…. A truly dangerous drug which should be seriously re-examined as it damn near killed me. Compare this to cannabis, which makes life tolerable, and is way more effective against neurological pain……. and which has a strong research base.
