We asked MCC what their stance was on GMOs, as cyclists are conscious of their diets for peak performance. Madenia Raven Salie- MCC supporter-replied: “As a supporter of the club for the past 3 years I can say that the club has never communicated their stance on this subject (that i know of) it is a subject that is gaining exposure within South Africa. I'm sure that some of the members have come across literature on the topic and it has now caused them to relook their shopping baskets. As cyclists, moms of cyclists and wives of cyclists, nutrition is an important part of performance, training and of course day to day lives. i can also say that as the club has a large Muslim following we try to eat fresh, pure foods as much as possible and many of us include organic and farm fresh fruits and vegetables.”
