The suspect's garage was filled with dagga bags estimated to have a street value of R3 million

MIDRAND – ON 31 JULY at 18.45pm the Midrand police crime prevention team and members of the community police forum arrested four suspects for possession of and dealing in dagga at a house on the corner of First and Smuts Streets in Halfway Gardens.

The police received the information from an informer about a Tanzanian male that was allegedly dealing in dagga. The informer said the suspect usually kept the dagga in his garage. When the police visited the address they found four suspects in the house, upon searching the house they discovered a bag of compressed dagga.

Upon further investigation the police discovered the suspect's garage contained bags of compressed dagga with an estimated street value of R3 million.

Police spokesperson Constable Matome Tlamela says, “The suspects were arrested immediately and will appear in court facing charges of possession and dealing in dagga. The docket has been transferred to the organised crime unit.”
